Meet Zhenya
ZHENYA GERSON
- Director of the PROPPR
- I-ACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapist
- Holistic Nutrition Certified
- Wellness and Business Consultant
Zhenya Gerson is our in-house gut health expert having worked in the health and wellness industry since 2005. She is driven to empower people to be aware of their own bodies, to listen to what it tells them and respond with informed and conscious decisions about their own wellbeing in order to live a healthy life.
Hailing from New Jersey and having lived in fast-paced New York, Zhenya’s passion for gut health and yoga began while living in California, discovering what proper nutrition meant, what lifestyle choices were best for her own total health, and how to implement that into day-to-day living in this busy 21st century.
On a mission to uncover the source of her own gut health issues she began taking yoga classes, seeing acupuncturists and naturopaths, along with having colonics and learning to shop at the local farmer’s markets for seasonal eating. She began experiencing first-hand the healing power of these practices.
With a passion for gut health and yoga now ignited, Zhenya completed studies with the University of Phoenix, American College of Healthcare Sciences (Certification in Holistic Nutrition and Wellness Consulting), undertook Advanced Yoga Certification, and has continued learning with experts in the fields of naturopathy, gut health and pelvic health / physical therapies.
She taught yoga for over a decade in Australia and the United States, as well as in the Maldives where she spent 2008 at the Conrad Resort as a Yoga Teacher and Spa Consultant. Working closely alongside the resort’s in-house naturopath saw Zhenya’s learning continue, and when she arrived back in Sydney she began working as a colon hydrotherapist.
In 2013 Zhenya established her own wellness clinic focusing on gut health, nutrition and wellness coaching, also working extensively with other therapists and medical specialists. They had a shared goal of helping people to start healing themselves from the inside out. Honouring the individuality of each person, and collaborating with other practitioners helped find natural and sustainable solutions for clients – to be well from the inside out and in connection with mind and body.
Zhenya has discovered that there is no “one size fits all” approach to total health. Overall total health must be a combination of the three pillars of overall health and wellbeing – physical/biological, psychological and spiritual – with balance being key for every aspect of total body and mind wellbeing.
Throughout her years of practice, Zhenya has helped numerous people with a wide range of health problems, from skin disorders to chronic digestive issues, and she’s even helped clients make a baby or two (yes, colonics and nutrition can help with that too!).
In 2018 Zhenya became the co-owner of the PROPPR and since 2021 has been offering small business consulting services to other health and wellness practitioners.
Zhenya is available for:
- Media and podcast interviews / commentary on colonics, gut health, the PROPPR toilet stool range and women in business.
- Public speaking and education workshops focusing on gut health, digestion, squatting, and a range of wellness topics.
