We were meant to squat
Ever gone camping?
Or travelling through Asia?
For 1000's of years we all squatted to go to the loo. It’s how our bodies were designed to release.
What exactly is PROPPing? It's toilet squatting.
Did you know that almost two-thirds of the world’s population squat to poop? And that research tells us these are the people who generally enjoy good gut health?
Yet in countries where we sit on a western toilet, we have alarmingly high incidences of constipation, haemorrhoids, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), bowel cancer and other digestive health issues.
These gut ailments are almost unheard of in the parts of the world where people still squat. The thing is, in the modern western world, squatting isn’t exactly the most practical thing you can do. Most of us are not about to replace the pedestal toilets for squat toilets in our homes. So, using a PROPPR toilet squat stool is the next best thing. It helps simulate the squat position while using your pedestal toilet – you squat and sit at the same time.
Your colon straightens when you PROP
The science is simple. The hip flexion achieved by squatting (PROPPing), releases the muscle holding a kink in your colon, your colon straightens and waste passes with ease.

PROP up a new habit
We love habits. Good ones. Call them rituals if you will – but the idea is that eventually your PROPPR toilet foot stool will become almost invisible to you. You will get so used to using it, it will integrate into your daily life in such an easy fashion that you will neurologically wrap yourself around this daily habit and it will become a seamless part of your day.
Using a PROPPR toilet foot stool does change the position of your bottom on the toilet seat and can take a little getting used to. We generally find using a PROPPR can take from as little as a few days and up to a couple of weeks for your body to adjust and enjoy pooping in the proper position.
If you do experience any discomfort, do persevere – in time you’ll find sitting on the toilet with your feet on a PROPPR bathroom foot stool the comfortable norm.

Squat 20cm (7.8 inches) off the ground
In cultures where we use a western pedestal toilet, our hips and knees are no longer really trained for the maximum squat position. But if you get about halfway there, you can still get the maximum effect.
The key is to have your knees higher than your hips.
The PROPPR is a stylish, Australian designed toilet foot stool for western toilets, created to help simulate the squat position. It’s your toilet squat stool, and allows you to sit and squat at the same time!
It doesn’t matter how tall or short you are, the PROPPR is simply designed to get you about 20cm (7.8in) off the ground. We call this magic height the “PROP ZONE”. Our PROPPR toilet foot stools are designed to get you into this magic zone.

It doesn't matter what size you are
To use the PROPPR, put it in front of your toilet and put your feet on it. It will get you into the magic PROP Zone. It doesn’t matter how tall or short you are – the PROPPR is effective for everyone 140cm-200cm tall.
The average Australian toilet height (including the seat) is about 42-45cm tall. We’ve designed the standard PROPPR with this toilet height in mind, so the gap between the top of the lid and the top of the PROPPR is roughly 20cm.

Can you sit 20cm or 7.8in off the ground?
Then you’re ready to PROP.
The only fit test you need to do, is to see if you can sit about 20cm off the ground.
It might be a bit uncomfortable at first – that would be your knees and hips waking up from a long slumber.
But if you can sit in that position for about 20 seconds, you’re ready to start PROPPING!
